The Grassington Dickensian Fair December 2009 . Offering an old fashioned traditional Christmas market and all-day entertainment, the festival is one of the annual highlights for this attractive Dales village.

As the festival is so popular, arriving by public transport is a better idea, with regular services running from both Ilkley and Skipton railway stations. Service 72 runs hourly from Skipton station, and service 74 operates every two hours from Ilkley station. Both are operated by Pride of the Dales.
North Yorkshire Police will be enforcing Parking restrictions throughout the village.
Please use the car park which is clearly signposted. Located at TARMAC SWINDEN QUARRY, B6265 at Cracoe.
There is no access to MAIN STREET, GARRS LANE for the duration of each days event. ( NO PARKING IN THE FOLLOWING CAR PARKS - THE SQUARE, MAIN STREET, TOWN HALL, COLVEND PAY AND DISPLAY )
Coach drivers are advised to contact the organisers prior to arrival.

Malhamdale Meander -
The Malhamdale Meander is a long distance walk that takes place once a year in and around Malham in the Yorkshire Dales.
A circular 23 mile route from Kirkby Malham Parish Hall, GR 896610
Taking in Malham Tarn, Gordale Scar, Parsons Pulpit and splendid views of Malhamdale.
Start 8.30am. Runners Start at 9.30am.
Entry £8 including hot meal, badge and certificate. Under 16's and over 65's £5, Limit 250, No dogs.

48th Fellsman-
The Fellsman is a 60 mile high level traverse over very hard rugged moorland.
From Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.
Most of the route is over privately owned land, the use of which is secured by the organisers for the weekend only.
This being the case the route does not follow well defined footpaths .
The entrants navigational skills with a map and compass are tested as well the their physical fitness.
Because of this only fit and experienced walkers should enter.

Arncliffe Gala and Fell Race -
Arnclife or Ammerdale as it was once known holds this event on the village green. Arncliffe village was once host to ITV's Emmerdale Farm, is famous The Falcon Inn. Its frontage was used as the original Woolpack Inn Emmerdale.
The fell race attracts runners from across the country and is over a distance of 1.8 miles ascending to a height of 443ft
