BUILDERS BEWARE

Over the last few weeks burglaries have occurred at 4 barns under conversion to houses. The premises targeted have all been in very rural locations in the Gargrave, Malham and Bolton Abbey areas.

In the latest burglary, which occurred overnight last night, the burglars got away with thousands of pounds worth of property, both from the house and belonging to the builders. The stolen items included a washer/dryer, a shower cubicle, plumbing equipment, power tools including a Bosch concrete breaker and Stihl saw, and a Paslode nail gun.

We would ask that anyone living near a property under renovation report to us anyone acting suspiciously, particularly noting any vehicle registration numbers, and any unusual activity at a time when the builders are not working.

Anyone who has information as to the whereabouts of the property or information about the offenders is asked to contact Grassington Police Station on 0845 60 60 247 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
